Ms. Chen Weiling first learned Taekwon-Do in 1993. She had trained until 1st Gup (Red Belt and Black Tip) before ceasing training due to heavy commitments in the school band.

Ms. Chen was not active in Taekwon-Do for the next 10 years, until she started practice as a lawyer, where she restarted training from white belt, at the age of 24, with the Island Taekwon-Do Centre under the kind guidance of Master Daniel Sng.  During her enrollment with the Island Taekwon-Do Centre, she had trained extremely rigorously of up to 3 to 5 times a week, and had competed, and attended as state coach in numerous competitions for patterns events, including 2 World Championships. She had also attended as an assistant instructor from the time she had obtained her blue belt.

Due to personal reasons, Ms. Chen had chosen to commence training with Mr. Michael Pang from 1 September 2012. Through Mr. Pang's guidance, she was encouraged to open her own class to further promote the martial art. Through Mr. Pang's encouragement and guidance, she had learned patience,  and grew the confidence to open her own class.

Ms. Chen had successfully opened her own class on 1 April 2014.

Ms. Chen constantly looks for opportunities to improve her knowledge of the art, on top of managing the administration of the ITFS Alliance and her work commitments.  In June 2016, Ms. Chen had travelled to Pyongyang, DPRKorea, for daily training over a fortnight with Master Ri Song Chol with the kind permission of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee. In September 2017, Ms. Chen had similarly travelled to Pyongyang, DPRKorea, for daily training over a fortnight with Instructor Park Chung Song with the kind permission of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee. In November 2018, she had similarly trained under Master Ri Song Chol and obtained her IV Dan black belt. All her trips are self-funded, with the sole goal of ensuring that she constantly improves her skills and knowledge in ITF Taekwon-Do to become a more effective instructor, and is in as good a position as she can be to promote ITF Taekwon-Do.

Ms. Chen is currently a licenced PA Trainer, with updated Standard First Aid and CPR / AED certifications. She is also certified in Basic Sports Science, and SG-Coach Level 1, both courses held by Sport Singapore. In her dedication towards ensuring that classes are all inclusive for students of all standing, Ms. Chen was awarded a Certificate in Special Needs Education, and had scored a high distinction for the same.  She had participated in the 20th Taekwon-Do World Championships, held in Pyongyang, DPRKorea in 2017.

Ms. Chen is currently a IV Dan black belt, last graded by a panel of Grandmasters led by Grandmaster Kim Ung Chol, the Chairman of the Tournament Committee and Vice President of the International Taekwon-Do Federation, in Pyongyang, DPRKorea. She is the current instructor of Boon Lay Zone 'J' RC, Boon Lay Zone 'A' RC and Yishun Riverwalk RC, and has a total enrollment of 70 students at the time of this post.
